It is my personal affairs, and I got married to Mamoru Kurihara in October 2015 and she is a writer of girls' manga. It is already a year and a half ago.
We are both freelance each other, and we did not have an wedding ceremony or anything like that and have been working lazily, and a year and a half went by very quickly.
Both I and my wife do not care about many things left out unless our motivation raises. Nothing can go on at our pace.
Well, how about taking a cool wedding photo then? Something like "bomb wedding photos" can raise our motivations.
Born in Kyoto in 1973. A stationary lover who writes about stationary. Thought about how an average joe like himself could become popular during his elementary school years, and came to the conclusion that showing off interesting stationary goods was the answer. Continues to show off stationary to this day.
It's cool to watch exploding bang bang bang in the squadron heroes series. It must be super cool if we can take photos of wedding with that as a background. And I heard that there is an event that you can take photos of cosplay with the explosion as a background, and I made an appointment to the organization "COSNAVI" which manages the events.
We met up near the Shibuya station before 7 in the morning. We will move to the Tochigi prefecture to take photos of wedding from now.
I contacted them and asked "is it OK to take wedding photos and not cosplay?" just in case, and I got an easy response "It is the first time like that for us, but it's OK".
Well, the wedding photo is like a cosplay, and there seems to be a big difference.
When we arrive, we get changed
Well, we took the charted bus from Shibuya and arrived at Iwafune-machi of the Tochigi prefecture in like one and a half hour. First of all, we borrowed a large room at the health and welfare center managed by the town and changing cloths time. Basically, as the cosplay requires a very large amount of costumes and time consuming to get changed, it is the basic for cosplay event management to secure enough dressing spaces from the beginning.
We move by by bus after getting changed. We arrive at the place in about 10 minutes.
We see the Iwafune mountain direction from the bus. The arrow shows that the mountain was cut in a V shape clearly at the 3.11 earthquake.
And, those who get changed take the shuttle bus, and finally go to the sacred place of shooting explosion, Mt. Iwafune.
That rocky mountain we watching in the squadron TV series many times.
The sacred place of special effects, Mr. Iwafune
Although Mt. Iwafune had been mined as a quarry from the Edo era but all the stones in the middle part of it were taken, it is now used as the rare "shooting location where you can shoot a blasting scene" in the metropolitan area.
Especially, it is the place too famous for the action scenes of the squadron hero series.
See, you've seen this mountain. This surface of the rock.
Cosplayers started to shoot here and there. It's unusual and I feel dizzy.
From the anime "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress", two are doing Kanabe (like zombies attacking). The quality is too high, isn't it?
When we arrived, cosplayers who came in the bus before us had already started shooting. And the quality of their cosplay costumes is weirdly high.
Cosplayers of the current squadron hero series "Kyuranger" were lining up for taking photos. I was surprised one moment like "ah, this is not a real shooting?".
I feel like I want to apologize that we are only taking normal wedding photos somehow. I don't know to who.
On the contrary, we are embarrassed that we two are only dressed in normal wedding dresses.
Also, we could not rented them because we use for shooting with explosion. The result was we ended up with the dress and the tuxedo that we found by searching with weak words "wedding dress very cheap".
By the way, the dress was 12,00 yen, and the tuxedo was with 3 pieces and a shirt for 15,000 yen. The cheapest tuxedo on the internet (all for 10,000 yen) had a comment "the fabric was too thin to be transparent" by someone, so I bought the one step higher in price.
But even if it gets water with a water gun, it is very thin that it would get melted.
I wonder how the cheapest tuxedo for 10,000 yen is like.
But only the bouquet that my wife is holding is very specially ordered.
I boasted that "this is a special order made by a eraser manufacturer", and Mr. Ando from the editorial department who is normally unresponsive was unsurprisingly surprised "really".
All the cakes and animals you can see in the flower are eraser. And the top bride and groom and a koala are all original for this bouquet.
A friend of my wife got the information that "the groom is a stationary writer", and asked Iwako the character eraser manufacturer to create the one and only bouquet with a eraser built in in the world.
Anyway, I am aware that it is the boast difficult to be understood, and for the moment, it is OK to understand that it is a masterpiece for eraser collectors and to let it go.
Let's get taking photos where it is cool from the beginning.
Then, I checked the event schedule and the shooting with explosion would start from 2 pm.
It is still 11 am, and we have 2 hours. I want to take wedding photos by making use of the location of Mt. Iwafune anyway until the explosion time.
A map and a schedule distributed by COSNAVI. There seems to be a lot of shooting spots here and there in the mountain.
Mt. Iwafune, warnings such as "maximum hazardous area! Stay away for 2 meters" are written here and there on the map. Although it is a shooting spot, it is only a rocky place. It is seriously a dangerous place.
Also, Mr. Ando found a word "bathing possible" at the lake on the map, and he asked us to take photos like explosion, getting fire at the back, and jumping into the lake like a series of a comedy, but we do not need a comedy element for wedding photos so I just ignored.
Let's get started with shooting photos and this photo is like an opening for RPG already. The location of Mt. Iwafune is too cool.
The road is flattened by a heavy machine, but this is not where to climb up with a wedding dress.
As it is originally a quarry, there is a road that heavy machinery and dumps can pass.
But I think no one could assume that someone in a dress would walk . As there is a warning on the map, there are many spots where you could fall off the cliff if you cannot see your feet here and there. We just have to pay attention there.
Mt. Iwafune, A theory that anything can be cool when we take photos anywhere there
So you ask me you really have to take photos there by paying a lot of attention to it. I would say I really have to with a lot of reasons.
It is a good structure even though you have never seen such a wedding photo before.
A wedding photo on a cliff.
Any photos I take anywhere can be cool here.
Moreover, the editor Mr. Ando and a writer Jinushi as a photographer came with us this time, and you should know if you are a Daily reader, they both take such good photos somehow. If we have a good location and a nice photographer, anything on the photo cannot be a mistake.
By the way, two photos above are like this. It is not such a great cliff but it is pretty cool on the photo.
In particular, Mt. Ando used to be a wedding photographer when he was living in Okinawa, so he really is professional for wedding photos.
Even at a cliff as little as 2 meters, it was very fun that we could have been photographed as a marriage photo by devising an angle on "the deadly cliff wall like you can die when falling".
Perhaps, the skill to have this cliff photographed very cool cannot be related to wedding photos.
Wedding photo on a cliff No.2
It is even lower than before. But Iwonder that it would become a cool photo.
By the way, I asked Mr. Ando if he had had a big failure with wedding photos. He said that when the group photo of the families had finished after the wedding ceremony, he had fallen the film and had the negative exposed. I am sure all the family members thought "what the hell" after the shooting.
I can feel that Mr.Ando is enjoying.
Jinushi decides the pose. As a hero, he is the one who is beaten by a normal combatant.
Also, I liked it when I saw Mr. Ando and Jinushi were kittenish and taking photos of each other while they were going around to the flat place from the cliff after they had taken photos of me and my wife.
A cool pose and a veil lurking in a gusty wins. (It is a hint of the next page)
The place which was mentioned "maximum hazardous area" in the map. In fact, it is a serious cliff 2 meters back of us, and it is really frightening. And far away from it, everyone is shooting.
This event in fact is joined by more than 100 cosplayers and photographers, and it is difficult to find a free space.
Even so, everyone is ruthlessly in good manners, like an anime heroin holding a rifle, a game character holding a sword, and the bride and the groom saying "sorry is it OK here? Are we not in the photograph? or "Right, then we will avoid here for a while" and taking photos by giving up to others. There was a feeling of warmth there.
Urgent trouble occurred! What happens to the explosion
Here comes the starting time of the explosion at 2 pm, and it is like this now.
I am trembling in the wind blowing and blowing. Cold.
Suddenly, the furious wind began to blow after noon, and we could not start the shooting with explosion.
Sure, the tent that was set up for the resting before was almost blown away earlier, and staffs and all the cosplayers tried to hold the pole and pressed the tent down.
Just before this photo, the tent really started to float by the wind.
I brought this huge double clip to fix the hem of the dress and the veil blown by the wind and use it. Stationary, useful.
This event was held yesterday and today for 2 days, but it seems that the wind and the temperature are also good and I heard that the shooting with explosion went without any problems.
Or rather, I heard that it was the first time that the weather went so bad and for the shooting with explosion event except for rainy weather.
We had tonjiru (pork soup) that the staff offered. It is warm and super delicious. It soaks in.
Moreover, the trouble was not just the sudden wind.
A forest fire occurred a few hour ago on the mountain next to Mt. Iwafune. A fire fighting helicopter etc. dispatched for this problem.
Surely, the helicopter was photographed in our photo during our shooting.
If there is a quiz "a forest fire is in the next, and the outside is there a sudden wind, and what is this?" and it is us.
We are in such troubles.
Napalm is impossible, but the cement is OK!
After all, we waited for about one hour with wished for the wind to stop, but there is no sign of stopping to blow.
This may be impossible for today... Such a mood begins to drift into the cosplay group who is exposed to dust.
At that time, the organizer said "please gather now".
What happens to the explosion!
"We will do the shooting with explosion by looking at the timing of the wind now! But please understand that we use cement and not napalm for the explosion!".
The shooting is happening.
By the way for those who do not understand napalm of cement, let me explain that they are both the types of explosion used in special effects.
The napalm is a flashy explosion with a huge red fireball raging, and the cement is the explosion that smoke rises in all directions from the ground. This time, the napalm was planned to be used for the shooting, but with the concerns about the strong wind and a forest fire, they decided to switch it to the cement which does not have a fire.
I wanted to shoot the napalm explosion, but the cement explosion is also cool. It is fairly enough that with all the troubles happening one after another it did not stop the event.
We are waiting for the explosion like this.
By the way, although it is the photography with explosion, we are supposed to pay for "1500 yen per person per explosion" apart from the event participation fee.
I was surprised to know that the explosion can be done with such a low cost, but I now understand after seeing the situation.
A lot of people are lining up for the explosion next to us.
In other words, as the explosion happens in the center, cosplayers line up side by side on that circumference and start shooting. It means that it tries to reduce the cost by sharing the explosion.
If I want to take a photo of the explosion in a good way, I need to use the zoom lens, so as long as I cannot go far closer, there are no chances of neighbors coming in our photos.
This is the explosive placed in the center. It is hardened with cement, and dust rises rapidly when it explodes.
The setting is completed, and we only need to wait for the wind to ease.
Finally the explosion!
Anyway, we are two people wearing a thin tuxedo and a shoulder dress. While waiting for the explosion, we ended up screaming each time the wind blew strong. (There were women of cosplay costumes like bikini close to us, but she was always posing with a flat face. A different resolution.)
Is it a Western movie!? Such strong dust and gusts hit the bride and gloom. Hard.
After about 5 minutes wait. The suddenly wind stopped when I started to think the I felt dirt and dust in my mouth.
OK, let's blow up! Countdown!
Cement explosion! Dusts blew and coming!
The wedding photo you can visibly see that debris are flying.
With the good debris in the moment of explosion at the back. It is fascinated and cool.
As you see in the movie, it is not as big as it used be. The sound is unexpectedly lighter than I thought.
But I felt the shock coming from the back at the same time as the sound. I felt rather thrilled by the sock compared to the sound.
Also, it is unexpectedly scary that unknown things like debris of the cement or small rocks are falling down. I felt the real feeling like "Wow, it exploded".
We challenged the explosion once again. Just after that, we were wrapped with dust completely. And someone's hands and feet were in the photo.
Anyway, we are very much satisfied with the outcome of the wedding photos with explosion.
Mr. Ando was so surprised that he could not open his eyes. He then repeatedly said that "the sound was dangerous, the sound was dangerous".
The photos were so cool that Mr. Ando and Jinushi started to say "we want to be photographed with explosion".
I do not understand that they are standing very still, but it is interesting that the photo is somehow cool.
For those couples who are getting married in the future, the wedding photos become automatically cool and it is highly recommended.
The COSNAVI that we made a report this time regularly hold shooting events that you can take nice photos at such as ruins and coal mine traces besides the explosion. The explosion event takes place several times a year, so please do check out their website if you are interested. (All events require prior reservation)
It seems that there is an explosion event in June, but I heard that it is already dully booked. In fact, we also made a reservation in order to challenge the napalm explosion again.
Cooperation in report:COSNAVI
The craftsmanship of the staff blowing up is a bot too cool.
